Mutual Protection Pact. Increase the size of your Attachments

I have a question about Mutual Protection Pact. What happens if you have a mutual protection pact with two nations and they go to war. are you expected to intervene or choose between the nations or are there any diplomatic marks for not helping thanks.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

If you have a MPP with 2 civs and they go to war you will automatically side with the defender against the attacker even if you have much better relations with the attacking party. Really sucks sometimes.
