	Problem with multiplayer...help! Increase Your PM Length

I've played this game for awhile, but can't seem to connect with a server for multiplayer. I'll see a server, but it will sit at "joining lobby" for awhile, then tells me I can't join. I have dsl. Please help, this is my favorite strategy game of all-time and I would very much like to join the community.

Damn, this problem exists in CtP1 as well? I did not know that. Why on earth did Activision not fix that for CtP2? I'm sure it was a known issue. Oh well, it's easy enough to solve...

thanks for the file, it downloads as a file called "attachment". What do I do with that?

You may have have to add the .zip at the end when you download it.

The reson the server.dat file is "corrupt" has nothing to do with the file itself. The file contains the addresses for three Activison servers; us1, us2 and uk. Unfortunately these three servers are not active anymore. They had it set-up that you would find these three servers and when you conected to one of them, enter the lobby, your servers.dat file would be updated with the addresses of all active servers. I remebember the first time I played CTP online; I had the three servers listed and when I left the lobby of us1 I had about 10 servers listed. Now I see only three, gateway/gamepoint/california, and can only get into gamepoint on a regular basis.

Got it! I'd also like to add that you guys are the very cool.

One more question; ctp doesn't seem like the kind of game that you just jump into with someone, are there ctp clans? I've obviously never played a MP game, but I can beat the single-player game on deity every time, so i'm not quite a rookie. Anything you guys can say to help me out would be very much appreciated...

Hey David42one Blackice is one helpful guy but don't be fooled, he just wants someone else to beat. You will get on well, if you play using the English version, but he will really love you if you use the german of French version.

BI loves to practice other languages.

Please help - having no luck with this download. Renamed attachment.zip and opened. What do I do with the download now - when I try and open the file called servers(dat file), I get a bunch of gobbledygook on a notepad. Could someone walk me through this step by step? Thx in advance.

extract it to: C:\Program Files\Activision\Civilization-Call To Power\ctp_program\ctp

That is if you have CTP installed on your C drive. Click yes when it asks if you want to replace the existing file.

Hey I will teach em before I beat em Of course then they beat me

I love other lanuages just not when I am trying to read what happened on the last turn in PBEM

Thanks, Swissy! It's now working. This time, I saved an extra copy of the file to another directory just in case I reinstall, delete the Civ directory or just creatively screw things up in some other way.

I appreciate the help!
