La Reconquista Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I've been involved in creating games over the net before and I think that it'd be great to do one about the Reconquista. You could play one of the Spanish kingdoms or the Muslims and then battle it out

I've don't really know much about this period of time at the moment, but I need to practise my Spanish so reading up on this for historical background/ideas for the game would help my education too

So, are people interested?

You shold take a look at "Al-Andalus: trail of the sun".
It's a civ2 scenario by Jay Bee about the "reconquista", and you can find it at his website, http://spanish.apolyton.net

Cool - you're just the kind of person I'm after!

I'm away for a few days but I should think of some ideas which I'll explain when I'm back. Meanwhile, if there are any others here who are willing to help out that'd make life easier

Ok, I'm back.

Yaroslav, would you mind programing alone for the moment? Hopefully once we get some basic things done and show the world that we're serious about it, we'll get some help. If you are, post your e-mail and I'll send you some info.

It is, when you've enough programmers to do a large amount ob work.

The most difficult part is the graphic interface, but the internal codes are quite simple. When I programmed for fun (ah, long time ago) everything was easy for me excepting the graphics.

are you kidding??
it can´t be that easy,

why then anybody has been able to introduce more civs than seven to civ2, for example

That involves modifying a game which I'm guessing is damn near impossible if you don't have the source code.

maybe i´m talking too much because i don´t kknow a lot about programming, but the idea of making a computer game with just two persons is IMHO almost impossible

It is unless it's really simple (which this isn't)...that's why I'm hopeing that more people become interested once we show that it will actually become a game rather than just remain as ideas.

A lot of them are ambitious and perhaps slightly over complicated...for example the Clash project. FreeCiv and CivEvo have been completed are quite good, as they've been kept relativly the same.
