It will load up my manual save i mad about 15 turns earlier but not my auto saves all 5 auto saves are screwed up... it will load to 57% and then say error while loading save game.
anyone got a fix for this? :/ I just got done with a huge war when this happened and i really dont want to fight it all over again :/

I am having what sounds like the exact same problem. Attached (if it works ) is a zip file containing two .SAV files. One is a manual save of a game, and loads fine. One is an autosave of the same game some hours later, which does not load fine.
If I try and load this dodgy save from the main menu, the progress bar gets to 57%, pauses for about 30 seconds, then clicks on to 60%. Then a Windows message box appears, titled 'DataIO Error' and containing the following text:
DataIO operation System Error: CTZN
OK is the only button available. On clicking OK, I get a Civ3-style messsage box saying
Load Error
ERROR READING FILE
"c:\ blah blah blah\auto\blah.SAV"
where I can't be bothered to type out the full filename
Note that if I try and load one of these dodgy autosaves from WITHIN an existing game, I get the same errors, but 'most' of the game seems to load. The map is all screwed up though.
When you say you want the URL to this thread, do you mean mail you? Hmm I guess if you don't check back here I'll never know
Thanks for any help you can offer.

PS Standard ruleset
Journier could you explain exactly how you can load one of these problem autosaves? I can't seem to do it. I have started a new game, skipped a few turns, then tried to load the problem save but it stil doesn't work.
