RICHMOND, VIRGINIA - October 17, 1869 - The War Department of the Confederate States of America announced the the capture of the capital of the French empire was even easier than expected. Major General JEB Stuart's Cavalry Corps had expected an easy day, but were stunned to have pastries and wine served to them by fair maidens upon arrival at the outskirts of the city of celebrated boulevards. By the time they arrived in the city center, to the adoration of cheering crowds waving the Stars and Bars, their steeds tread on rose pedals and lilies. General Stuart's aides reported that the French women were intitially so estactic that men who were actually attracted to women had arrived in town, but when they saw the dashing Virginia Cavaliers that they wer beside themselves with anticipation. Ever the gentleman, General Stuart ordered his men to rescue the neglected French females, then commented that "It would appear that the stories that the esteemed British Admiral told me concerning wanton desires of Paris women and the... aptitude... of the Frenchmen as 'lovers'."
In other news, domestic riots broke out in Wisconsin when locals attempted to serve Confederate States Army troops with what passes for beer in that region. Men of the south are not accustomed to drinking that which might easily pass for horse piss. Conscripted Colonel Ulysses S. Grant was ordered to dispose of the foul concoction, but when specific intructions were not provided, he and his staff became intoxicated while accomplishing their duty.
