I think the worst film I've actually finished watching is a TV-film called "Legion of Fire: Killer Ants!", it's presented at sicene facts and 'this could really happen' and is about south american ants that happens to get to alaska where they attack people and a small town. The real problem is that the ants are about the size of ordinary ants (thus being 'facts'), so people that are about to be killed must have had an accient before so that they can't run away. So most people that die just happens to break their legs as soon as the ants turn up. It's really pathetic to see the hero and heroine being surrounded by ants beside a shallow and slowflowing river. You just wanna scream: "Take two steps into the water damn it!"

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

I tend to screen movies pretty well through the previews and so I seldom see anything I find bad.

Some picks that made it through.

Shaft
Crouching Tiger

I heard how bad Battlefield Earth was and I tried watching it to see if that was the case. I made it through about 20 minutes before I stopped watching.

She didn't??? But she did get shot right? And as far as I remember I didn't see her anymore in the movie...that might be because I was half asleep, only waiting for the movie to end!

Anyway, I just found a new movie to add to the list:

Me, Myself & Irene - The movie is almost as bad as Man on the moon, knowing it was supposed to be a comedy

Blair Witch Project: OK, it's not really good but it tries to make such a interesting thing as a realistic horror film. That's worth credit

The Matrix: A pretty nice action film with a pseudo-philisophical twist, nice

The Crow 2 : Haven't seen, no comments. The first was pretty nice though.

Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs: Those films started a entire new genre, how can anybody list them as worst films ever?!

Fargo:
It's pretty OK imho, Ja!

Star Wars Episode 1: the Phantom menace:
OK, this is pretty bad but still, worst film ever nah!

Made :
Never heard off...

A Clockwork Orange :
One of the best films, ever!!!

Platoon:
A really good film

Blair Witch-oh i'm #%$% afraid of #%$^#^$ sticks and $#$% rocks %$#%ing piled in a %@%$ heap.

Great dialogue!

The Matrix; See it! that shoot out in the building is great!
The acting was so bad I thought I was watching a second grade play!

The Crow 2- The Crow was an excellent movie, so I expected more from this dog.

Quentin movies- Great dialogue, but the movies made me yawn!
Plus Tarentino REALLY annoys me!

Fargo- They said go see this black comedy. Where was the comedy? another yawn.

Star wars Ep 1- disappointing, and the kid playing annakin-terrible.

Made- Vince Vaughn was Really annoying in this movie.

Clockwork Orange- Forgot to drop acid first made no sense to me.

Platoon- Not terrible but not even the best vietnam war movie from that time. Hamburger Hill was a far better movie than any of the others.

Plus where are your votes for bad movies?

Dont get me wrong KrazyHorse I didn't say it was a great movie, just that it was btter than platoon and full metal jacket.

When a bunch of movie comes out like in this case, I like the movies that don't have a bunch of famous actors wanting to play soldier---Platoon.

FMJ was better than platoon also. But the actual war part of the movie was boring. First half was much more interesting.

Platoon was just forgetable, I can't actually remember any scene that stands out.

Tired of ads?

Why hasn't anyone mentioned 'Striptease'?

How could you guys forget a movie that features Demmi Morre being sacked from the FBI, (?) and then working as a stripper in order to pay the legal fees needed to gain custody of her child from her deadbeat husband?
Hell, it even featured Burt Reynolds covered in vasoline, and had a wierd subplot where the strip club's bouncer was trying to blackmail a food company.

The recently released "Hannibal" deserves a place there as well. It gets extra points for trying to follow an act like Silence of the Lambs.

I actually enjoyed Hannibal. Not even close to as much as Silence of the Lambs, but I thought it was underrated. Cowards changed the ending though, Hollywood rat bastards.

Are we talking about the absolute worst movie ever made, or simply the most overrated? Or the one that enjoyed the most undeserved success? Titanic wasn't critically lauded by any stretch of the imagination, but critics don't get much of a say in Oscars. So it wasn't necessarily overrated, but it did enjoy way, way, WAY too much success for the massive pit of offal that it was.

I kinda figured that would be the case, in the book the only thing that was close to the feel of silence of the lambs, was the scene in the opera house, how was it in the movie?

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

One hot canditate would be the TV-movie "The Patriot" (all movies with the that word in the title sucks ), starring Steven Seagal.

I had my suspicions from the very first scene, where Seagal enters wearing a cowboy hat and a serious look.

Absolutely dreadful.

I think it was pretty obvious in the book that it was set up for a sequel. Problem is, Thomas Harris takes so long to write that nobody would remember what went on 7 years previously...

Do any of you know what TMA means?

If you thought it was bad, its either because you're too smart for it, or the makers weren't targeting you. (or not expecting to anyway), or you have an anger problem. (If it's that, you should never be angry, no matter what).

I think only 0.05% of all movies are actually good and even most of those get worse as time passes.

Movies are a great way of knowing how many suckers are out there in this world, the teenagers make up the most of them.
