Which half-life sp mods have you played? And which are your favorites?
This is my list:
Half-Life
Half-Life Uplink
Opposing Force
Blue-Shift
They Hunger 1-2-3
The Challenger Deep
USS Darkstar
Case Closed
Conundrum 1-2
Todesangst 1-2
Heart of Evil
Unknown
The last one was a small file made by some Italian - I think I downloaded it from the Italian site. Don't remember the name.
I got all these mods from http://www.planethalflife.com/commu...osted/mods.shtm
I didn't make a poll cos there might be more than 16 sps.
My favorites are:
They Hunger 1-2-3
Half-Life
Opposing Force
Case Closed
The Challenger Deep
Didn't like USS Darkstar much and the endings of Todesangst 1-2 are too difficult.
Yes, I know Half-Life isn't a mod.

Tried to install half-life, but it won't search the internet for updates because it claims I am not connected to the internet. FALSE! I am connected.
I am using a ADSL connection (broadband). Before I used ISDN. I think the setup (update) software searches for modem or ISDN connections only. I think I've seen this BS before.
So what do I do to surpass this?

I played a lot of those a couple years ago... Just a few of the ones I remember liking (some of them are simply single-player maps, some real mods):
- Timeline 1 and 2 (The Nazi US flag still haunts me in my dreams)
- They Hunger 1 (I don't think I ever played 3, and 2 was irritating by the end because of the fire alarm (and not as fun as 1 anyway)
- USS Darkstar (just plain quality from Neil Manke, and as (I think) Morgan said at TenFour, contains the Best Moment in any computer game ever, or at least in any HL SP map ever)
- Mission of Mercy (gave a very nice impression of playing on the aliens' side)
- Two Smoking Barrels (humorous, IIRC)
- Xeno Project 1 and 2 (nice backstory, pretty good architecture esp. in the beginning of 2)
- Peaces Like Us (a very bizarre map from some Japanese guy. Watch out for the alternate universe part)
- Opposing Force
- Chemical Existence (a slightly buggy and sometimes ugly but fun total conversion. Excellent weapons.)
- Conundrum 2 (I liked this one a lot more than the original Conundrum, especially for the rather bizarre levels towards endgame)
- Deliverance (needs some patience. I only ever played through one of the endings (there are two, I took the positive one) but that one had perhaps the most rewarding ending sequence I've ever seen)
- Uplink (Valve's demo of Half-life. I enjoyed playing it especially because I had been checking out HL's data files and wondered what some sound files were doing there - they were a part of Uplink)
- Rum (Okay, j/k... never played it)
- The Long Night (a rather plain and normal map, IIRC, but since I just felt the need to mention it, so I guess I did like it)
- Twisted Hazard Course (short, rather funny)

Where did you get those Ari? I haven't seen those on planethalflife.com. What is "Rum"?
Can you help with my post before yours?
