	Old Korean monitor :((((( Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Can anybody help me make the game work at 800/600 resolution? I used to be able to play the game with no problems, but recently formated the hard disk, reinstalled everything and Civ3 just wont work. My computer wont work at 1024/768 resolution (have an old daewoo monitor, but not sure if that's the problem). A nice way out would be to make Civ3 play at 800/600

you have to use civiliaztion.ini (i think), and add the line:
"keepres=1"
It may not be that exactly. Try doing a search for resolution. I know I've seen it posted, but it's been at least 2 or 3 months.

You simply cannot play Civ III at 800x600.

Minimum is 1024x768. After the game came out several people tried to run it at 800x600 and some even succeded but reported it was unplayable due to shifted buttons and other problems.
If you do a search in the time frame November-December of 2001 you may find the threads I am refering to here.

Just putting keepres=1 in the .ini WON'T help.

A TV show here once presented a new video game saying that you can't yet buy the computer that will allow you to play that game with full options (graphics, sound...) but you could shut down some of the options and play it on the best piece of PC available, while you wait for Pentium 5 )

Damn you ... whoever you are who make these computer games that won run on older PC's!!! Ain't I a human??? Don't I deserve to play CIV3???


(from now on I'll only play in communism, they didn't make us buy new TV's until the old one would leek green fluid)

If it's any help, you can get a 17" AOC monitor capable of > 1024x768 for $120 US from Mwave.com. (although I am not sure of their international shipping rates ).

Thnx buddy but my eastern european salary will allow me buy the monitor and I'll have just about enough money to live on bread and water for the rest of the month
Anyway thank God for black marketeers, they should be in Civ4
