	French Color Changes Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Can I Change the colors of the CIVs? (I Hate the pink of the frenchs...) without changing the rules?

I tried changing colors in the editor and it causes the game to crash every time. Any one have any luck?

You have to restrict yourself to using the first 17 colors. I make all of those colors somebody's default color.

I think pink is ok for the French. After all they are into fashion.

But in order to imagine the French as a kickass civ, I have to think about Napoleon, not fashion. Blue (and not cyan).

The pink is obnoxious; it seems most appropriate to transfer it to the Barbarians. I'm stunned that Firaxis wasted white on them.

Well you do have a point there. White was wasted on the barbs. Should've used pink on them instead!

Pink barbs would be so scary!

The French seem to be one of the stronger AI controlled civs. Maybe it's b/c i look at their pinkness and consider them a joke. And after they conquer most of the remaining civs and it is basically me vs. them, I make them look like a joke. So pink is an appropriate color for them.

OkOkOK! No problem with all of that. My question is ¿Can I change the default colors of the palette? I can change all the colors but I want to use the SRANDAR RULES.
How can I change the default color without change the rules?

I'm not sure, did you check all the options in the editor? Maybe someone else can help.....................

I think he means can you change the basic palette of available colors. I'd be interested to know whether anyone has tried to edit palette.pcx.

Actually, this topic might find a quicker answer in the Creation forum, now that I think of it.

There are a number of threads that discuss shuffling the player color assignments, including the one cited above, but this is the only thread that showed up in a search for "palette.pcx."
