DiabloII.net has just posted a very funny April Fools joke on their site. They claim to have a copy of the plans Blizzard have for the next patch which were apparently accidently posted on Blizz's official site earlier today. Whether the joke comes direct from Blizz (who have a good record of such things) or from DiabloII.net itself i don't know, but it is VERY funny!!!

i tried to log onto the site's forums to see how many suckers have fallen for it, but couldn't get on because there was too much traffic. i'm sure some poor deluded people have fallen for it and are now madly spamming all the forums and chat rooms with "WTF BLIZ!! I WANT MY UBER ITAM BACK NOW!! I HAVE 10 WF 20 GF 500 SOJ!!! STFU U NOOB!!!!!"

sample quote from the 'official' document : "In order to address some lag issues, we need to reduce the number of characters saved on the Realms. [...] 2 characters will be deleted from every account, at random, to help with overcrowding."

i thought the Diablo2 fans amongst us would find this amusing.

yeah, they've admitted it now. Blizz's april fool's joke involved the introduction of a fifth race into warcraft 3 that was made up entirely of pandas.

yeah, Bliz put quite a lot of work into creating that one. it's nice to see a big company with a sense of humour. That's one of the reasons I like their games so much. Have you heard any of the 'annoyed speech' for WC3 that plays if you repeatedly click on one unit - it's hilarious.

Beyond the Dark Portal introduced some funny annoyance speech too:

Alleria: "Do that again and you'll pull back a stump!"
Grom Hellscream: "I AM IRON MAN!"
Deathwing: "Do you like fire?" "I'm full of it!"

Okay, so they're not as funny as "Why do you keep touching me?" But they're still worth a chuckle or three.
