	Hey Polyzens Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

What do you think?

I guess there's a new law in town. It's April 3 MST so I doubt it's still April fool's.

Some back ground.

A wise-*ssed kid named KruX posts in OT looking for advice on how to get a job with Firaxis to programme AI. Sounds like it's OT for any other forum. Next we have the new mod closing the thread on general principle, assuming the lad is a DL. *Send an email to Firaxis.* A good suggestion, but I think the tike had a more open discussion in mind. See here

DL? With 1100 posts? OK. Riiiiggght. Umhmm.

Next we have someone wondering why that thread was closed. Good question. See
here I note the high level of esteem the new mod seem to hold Polyzens in. Now I'm curious. So it's off to OT I go.

Hmmm. This is Interesting:
*Inform the moderator. Which dorks errr posters should I watch out for.* Great, I can see this person thinks a great deal of the people who form the Poly community. This is going to go swimmingly I think to myself.

Meanwhile, have you checked out the Civ3 forums lately? I didn't think many of you had. General has become mostly a cesspool IMO. Even Magaha seems to have written Poly off as far as civ goes. He posts more in OT now.

Anyhoo, what do you think? BTW, it's been suggested that solicitations of Polyzen's opinions might be proof against the closing of a genuine attempt at discussion about the state of affairs on Poly. Your turn.

but it helps to know a little bit of history of who the "new mod" is and her relationship with another mod and her history with civ sites etc, etc.

Just a bit of a case of posters not knowing each other.

Well, you're hopeful about the state of debate on Poly. *They're not praising us, close it.* I doubt that's the philosophy MarkG has in mind from what I've read. Can't say about DanQ. He's a bit inscrutable.

I've read extensively about how LTEC is MtG's SigOth IRL over the last number of April Fool's daysss.

As for the posters knowing each other, isn't someone who's going to mod a forum expected to be familiar with it?

Where has the cart gone before the horse here? Not just in OT. I seriously think Civ3 General is in big trouble. Civ3 Strategy is on life support and fading fast. Firaxian's have not been seen with meaningful comment for a while now. Wheras they have been observed in productive habitat on other sites. Doesn't that say something? Is Poly about the games, or about the kvechting at what the games are not? Well, I think it's about both, but where is the balance?

I'm not sure.

Does Activision regularly post in ctp2 forums? I know that game is a bit old know, but you get the picture.

The game is aging a bit. Of course there will most likely be an expansion pack, so one would expect the programmers to stay with the civ sites.

As for the lack of posting in civ3-strategy, I can't comment, since I know longer post there either. The game just didn't hold my interest enough. But I still have hope they can do something with it.

Welllll. Now I have to back up a bit. Magaha hasn't exactly been carpet bombing CviFan lately either. Just checked (man I wish I'd done that sooner). I guess he likes Poly OT. Woot, one for us. BUT!

The main points remain:

Who the h*ll is this new *mod* to be chastising people posting under their own nomedeplume with 1100+ posts for being a DL???

What is her problem? OK. Her SigOth was lost to Poly for a few years. So she's going to diss everyone for his neglect of her? Not trying to get personal here, but this is what I have gleaned from reading only 3 days of public posts. I don't think I'm out of line. Ming or MarkG can tell me if I'm wrong, I'll accept it.

BTW. I know KruX can be a little so-and-so, or so I've gathered. I just don't appreciate seeing him dissed as if he were the latest flotsam washed in from the vast wash of the internet. What about when it's my turn to be discarded? What about yours?

Finally, even if the Mistress is a prolonged April Foolsss joke, the state of the Civ3 forums is real. Even MarkG seems to have given up on them except for the odd comment.

LTEC! is an experience cyber warrior who had been chewing up and spitting out charactors somewhat more significant than thee.

In any case I assume the thread was closed because of a rule against posting thread for the pecunary interest of the poster.

Thread closed because someone asked what courses to take in college to persue a given career? I suppose I can grant that possiblity. Pretty mercenary that. Wanting a good and useful education. What's the world coming to?

Didn't seem that pecuniary interests were the reason the initial thread was closed though. Check the links and tell me I'm wrong.

she may have made the mistake of looking at his avatar which is the same as Horsies old one. Maybe she thought he was a DL based on that.

I think two of my DL's had around 300 posts.

They wouldn't ever have been caught if I hadn't confessed my crimes. I used them like real posters. Actually I had 2 or 3 DL's I used as real posters.

One was bisexual and one was a hostile violent a$$hole. But they were around so long that they were accepted as real posters.

ahhh those were the days . But now days it seems any new poster who posts something inflammatory is investigated. It's harder to create DL's now.

I wonder if I can check their profile. I think they have been permantly locked, but they might still have a profile.

Edit: 395 posts to be exact on one of them. The other login is completely gone. I have another login with 1400 posts. That was my original before I changed my name.

If you were looking at Uber for the first time, expecially considering he was using 'Horsies' avatar*, all in all your first impression would be he was a DL.
