What viewing format do you view Apolyton under? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I'm trying to get used to the default format. I like it because it is informative. But it sure looks cluttered.

I normally use light. I have no idea what the others do.

and yes I voted for my own thread . I'm trying something out.

OK I have been playing around with it now. I even read that post by markg I never paid attention to before

So now I know what each one does.

after all that wasted time- I have nothing better to do. I have settled on light- special. but I already voted for light. No biggie.

I am not familiar with this "viewing format" of which you speak. Perhaps you could enlighten me?

In your control panel, under "user options" you have a choice of viewing styles. The default/civ3/ctp2 ones are color changes, and the light one disables certain things. I forgot what exactly the special choice does, but it relates to displaying ads.

Personally, I use the default style with everything turned on. Since I'm on a hispeed connection, it doesn't really affect my speed, plus I think the light style looks empty and boring.

I use the CTP2 default style with turned of avatars. I think the speed of your connection is not the problem it has/had to do with some server problems to make Mark to introduce the light style.

I use a variety, but always avoid default. The bright background hurts my sun-starved eyes.

well I use lite not for speed problems, but because it looks better and less cluttered. I think this is why he included it. When they changed over from the Old UBB style I couldn't stand the way it looked. I was very used to the UBB style. So I had to go to lite.

The colors of the non-default options are butt-ugly so I don't use them. I used Light for a while but they have much less info (ratings, views, etc) and I'm now on a high-speed connection anyway, so I switched to Default again ages ago.

Actually, the speed of the connection is exactly the problem and the reason why Markos introduced the Light version. The server problems made Markos temporarily disable avatars for everyone (although it no doubt would have helped if everyone had switched to Light style as well).

Inflate your Upload Space

I use one of the normal full views, although I switch between them.

The difference between special and non-special is the ads. I think special has a popup ad, while normal has two ads on each page.

Tired of ads?

One thing though. The special view at the moment doesn't have popup ads because we can't use paid ads on the server. So for the time being, it is better to use the special view.

Good point, hadn't thought about that yet. Switching to Special as we speak
