RICHMOND, VIRGINIA - July 4, 1870 - Independence Day brought on an entirely new meaning in America today. In an effort to improve quality, President Jefferson Ruffhaus VIII signed into law a ban on cheap Chinese fireworks that malfunction all too frequently. This action coincides with the Independence Day holiday, which had taken on a lesser role in the Confederacy since 1861. All fireworks will now be imported from Japan.
A formal declarations of war against China was passed by the Senate early this morning. Quick victory is expected over the once proud nation, rumored to be run by opium traders, cheeseheads, and cheap beer guzzling Dale Earnhardt supporters.

Great Britian finds themselves eternal friends of the Confederacy largely in reward for their assistance in liberation of the our nation from the Whyskered Tyrant, but also because of their fine diplomatic vision and the dedication of their military leadership. Well, this is the part I hate most about GMing Dip games. Losing players and having to find replacements for sabotaged positions afterwards. As you can see from the list, we need a new France and a new Holland. As a result, we don't have a deadline this turn. I appologize to the rest of you for having to wait so long to get the results in. You shouldn't have been punished for my frustration at what was basically a selfish act. I had a long rant I wanted to post, but I realize that it really isn't necessary. You are all aware of the consequences surrounding player abandonment of a game, and you don't need me to list them off for you.
