I looked in here yesterday and noticed you'all seemed to be a bit stuck, so I sent this email to Ted, who seemed to be the likely suspect.

Okay, voting time.

Do we continue to wait for tfs99, do we drop him (and try and find a replacement), or do we simply scrap the game?

If we wait much longer, the game will die regardless, so let's do something now.

Harsh as it sounds, I say we start looking for a replacement now. If he comes back before we find one, all the better.

If you want (and if DCole sends me a copy of the turn), I am willing to play this year's turn to keep the game from stagnating and to give Ted another couple of days to make an appearance, at least putting off the day of reckonning.

I'm sure I can put myself into that Miriam state of mind that he seems to have adopted - that should safely preclude my availing myself of any special knowledge I might have .

Emergency situations do arise, it's just frustrating to not know /something/ about why the game gets stuck.

I think most will agree to this to get the game rolling again.

Oh, just so I don't forget to mention it, I'll be moving in about 6 months, so I'll not be available. However, I've got a replacement lined up for that period. Heh.

Just say the word, and I have a replacement for us all lined up.

I like the idea of john playing the turn (thanks, John!), so that Ted doesn't get kicked unnecessarily. It's really odd - tfs99 is a definite SMAC vet, and has been through a lot of these games before.

would love to only I don't have a copy still...I'm an anima freak so my hard drive is always filled to the brim with that. Didn't think I'd need either of the files any more so I deleted them both after I sent them on (yes yes I know incredibly stupid feel free to say so) I leave it up to you all what to do.

Probably you will need to replace Ted the way it looks - I would suggest that you do so if he hasn't surfaced by the time the turn comes around to him again. IIRC, one of you said that you had a potential replacement lined up, so just get them ready and let Dcole78 know what to do with the turn before he erases it from his disk ; just let me know and I'll send the password to them.

Ok.... problem, for some reason I am getting a fault that I do not understand. Are you all playing version 2 or is my computer about to need another overhaul.... (in which case to keep the game moving it's going to be a long night). Any help will be appreciated.

Don't forget, Dark One, that you need to run Alpha Centauri (and not Alien Crossfire) to load this game, or it'll crash on you.
