It is a little known fact that The Chairman planted the seeds (and the NanoRust) that led to the physical breakup of the Unity, but not before he had planted the seeds of rebellion, the tastes of greed or lust, threats of blackmail, whatever it took to bind some of the finest specialists of the various factions to him to work his dark will. Together, they managed to surreptitiously launch a number of Pods well before and without the mayhem attending on the final crash. They were able to remove some of Zak's finest equipment with which a few corrupted colleagues of Zak and a few of Yang's former Gaian supporters were able to create a retrovirus which allowed the Chairman to insert his own DNA into that of the Native life found on Planet.
With this retrovirus, his extra Pods and equipment and his headstart on Planet, the Yangster was able to establish his faction with their unholy hybrid minions in some of the choicer locations on Planet. They are pretty well established, so beware, be nice and be somewhere else (if you can). Of course, the virus somehow found its way out of the labs and so now these smarmy Yanglettes of various kinds may be found almost anywhere on Planet if you are unlucky enough to look in the wrong places. It almost makes dealing with the real Yang a pleasure.
Good luck and have fun.
If you are going to engage in role-playing dialogue, feel free to use either this thread or to start another for that purpose.
The Colonists:
Gaia - duMa - at
Hive - Chairman Yang (Himself)
University - knowhow2 - at
Morganites - Claw919 - at
Spartans - DCole78- at (replaced) - KrysiasKrusader at
Believers - tfs99 - at (replaced) - Vader Jr. - at
Peacekeepers - Arnathalon - at (replaced) - Mongoose - at
The rules are the usual, as spelled out in the original thread - communications and negotiations are subject to first meeting in the game - the setup is "average" (modified to give Yang a decent chance) and you can send the problems, complaints and/or kudos to me. If you need a replacement, feel free to advertise or whatever and I will supply the password if necessary and/or play a turn or two to keep things going. The game year is now 2104, allowing for password setup and for some other technical things beyond my ken, but there has not been that much action going on behind the scenes, so don't worry about that; save your worries for unexpected visits by the minions in blue.

Awesome job, johnd! Thanks!
Turn sent to Provost Knowhow2 of the University.
Gaian settlement records in transmission. Communications channels spotty.

Morgan looked out over the barren landscape upon which his pod had landed. Sighing deeply, he ordered his Colonists to separate, hopefully in search of hospitable terrain upon which a flourishing organization could hopefully be founded.
A young Scout approached him. "What orders, CEO?"
Morgan smiled. "Go out. The responsibility lies solely on your shoulders, Adam, to find new ground so that we may expand. Scout only - do not engage any enemy. I don't want to lose you in some goddamned ambush."
Morgan watched him go, and took out his Visclear device, scouting the surrounding terrain. Clearly, this was not going to be the immediate ramp-up to profitability that he'd hoped.
Turn sent to Dcole!

No worries yet. I would appreciate all to post as well, at least during the times when the game slows down. If we're trippin' along like a bunny in a carrot patch, then it's probably unnecessary.
I'm playing another game where I've been waiting 15 days for my turn. Now that's a bit ridiculous.

The roleplaying certainly gives another dimension to the game under a few conditions, some of them is that you have plenty of time, good imagination, isn't involved in more than a handfull of PBEM. I, myslef don't have that much of freetime which usually means that I won't roleplay more than necessary. Although enjoy plenty when others do roleplay a lot. Having written that I want to point out something.
Posting here is great. Especially when posting to notify turns movement. Roleplaying is always nice but please try to make it easier to spot where the last turn-poster is (= roleplay at the top or the bottom on each post or totally separate regular posts to roleplaying posts.

If I were to post a turn, I would put it here.

Yep, I seriously understand the Knowhow2's groan about a 6 player game.
If it makes anyone feel any better, I've been waiting for 'Capitalists World', another 6 player game, since April 7th.
Whee!

Last to report a turn was Dcole 78, leaving it with tfs99. Please respond. Over.

As far as I know, the Believers have the turn, do they not?
It's way too early to start having this sort of thing. Why doesn't everyone (EVERYONE) check in right now (specifically saying that they do NOT have the turn), and if someone's not checking in or if EVERYONE says they don't have the turn, we'll go from there?
So:
I'm here, and do not have the turn (sent it to Dcole on the 24th of April).
