Messed up Words. Got spare money?

i remember this problem back from my days of civ2mge, but i recently reinstalled for a democratic game and all my labels are messed up (settlers called mech inf) etc.

how can i fix it?

i had that problem once, i think i downloaded the wrong patch. worked fine after installing the correct version (thanks War4 )
