	Avatars for all! Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Well, since I need about 100 posts until I get a custom avatar I can't really use any of these, but I figured we should have a thread for people to ask for avatars. I'm very willing to search for stuff, and I already have a couple of pics that just need some tweaking to become avatars.

I was fooling around in photoshop trying to combine the Decepticon and Autobot logos, but I can't get it to look right.

Yes, the mouse is Brain.

The Autobot/Decepticon thing looks cool. Actually, I was trying to take the 2D pics of the logos and blend them, so that the left side was decepticon and the right side autobot with some kind of mix in the middle (like the whole thing was transforming or melting into the opposite).

I found some gifs of x-com stuff - I put them all on my website. I currently don't have a program to make animations, but it looks like other people do. I think it would be cool if you took the orginal and the autopsied version of an alien and had the image alternate between the two. Or, you could have all the aliens cycle through.

I think some of these might be too big in file size to use as an avatar, but I can always reduce their size, and change (or remove) the transition effects.







Aside from taking things out of the intro I could also make some animations with the in-game graphics.



I don't know if anyone even wants these though... ah well, it's good practice.

I was thinking something from UFO or Apoc, but seeing as I don't have permission to access the apocalypse gifs in MacTBone's site, UFO it is!

I would probably go with XCom5.gif, maybe cutting the cyberdisc, floater, and purple blobby things (forgot its name ) to help make the file small enough. I tried making it smaller by saving it at the lowest quality, but even that was way too big

If you can get it under 10k, I will use it!

Faded... I'm just wondering how long it will last though, and what Markos will replace it with...

I didn't realise the limit was 10k, I thought it was 100k.


There is no way I can make it small enough while keeping the transitions, without making it miniscule. Heck, I could barely do it without the transitions.






But, you could always use a still image.

Looking at the moving avatars I have, they are all 16 frames or less. Also, none of them have backgrounds, the image only fills a part of the available area. Then they still only just made it.

I'm too polite for PCRs, Grrr. I got addicted to the horrible go-nowhere drug OT and stopped playing Civ - all versions. That'
s changing now I'm in the Democratic game - and I now have a, ah, prominent role to play. I'm reformed now - I still go OT every now and again - but I know when to stop.

And are (non-animated) thumbnails typically small enough to be Avatars? I can't quite test this yet.
