Indians are typically hindu, Pakistanis are usually muslim. It depends how strictly they adhere to their religion to ethnically distinguish though...

I think part of it for me in high school was that there were about 5 of us who were good friends, if any of us got our ass kicked whoever did it was going to the hospital - I think everyone basically knew that.

One time in maybe 9th grade, some punk walked up to our table at lunch and spit in the hair of one of my best friends, who turned around and knocked him on his ass in front of about 100 people. Even my friend's dad laughed about that one. He never got messed with after that

So I think the way to not kicked picked on is to have a good group of close friends, and kick the first person's ass who messes with you, and you'll be fine

Where do most Sikhs come from? Is it all a single part of India for the most part?

a guy who sits next to me in my Econ class and I talk a bit before class usually, and we got talking about where we're from. He said he's not from the US, but lives in Delaware with his brother. I asked where in India he's from, he was like "India??, noooo not India" and he's like "I'm pakistani" and I felt bad, but it was an honest mistake...i mean there's not much of a skin tone difference between northern Indians and Pakistanis, though I should have picked up on the dialect

So then he says that though he's Pakistani, he has lived most of his life in the United Arab Emirates. I redeemed myself by actually knowing where it was, which surprised him as 'most Americans don't know what the hell I'm talking about'.

Actually, one time a choir boy type kid (that everyone hated) stole my bike on Thanksgiving day, and I ran him down on foot and punched him in the stomach. My mom was not pleased when his older sisters came to the door crying about my brutality

First and only time I was grounded, IIRC

Most Sikhs come from Punjab province, IIRC. Punjab straddles the Indian-Pakistani border, so there are Sikhs in both countries. Don't quote me on that though.

My mom did too, and I listened as well. I'm kinda glad I did though, there were times when I could have faught back in such situations, but I got out of it using wit. Yes, but he was speaking English.

Normally I can tell the difference between someone from Pakistan and someone from India based on how they speak. I just wasn't thinking when I asked where in India he was from.

Doesn't Bangladesh have more people than Pakistan? I'm not sure about the percentages of Muslims to Hindu's though...
