Playtesting Inquiry Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

I'm very happy to have found a bunch of people as enthusiastic as I am about SMAC.

I like to "dabble - tinker" with the game also.

Question: How do you guys test ( or playtest ), your creations/modifacations ?

Yourself ? Friends ? People here at Apolyton ? Other websites ?

I generally playtest mine several times, by playing with/against my factions andp laying through whole games in a "new" mod...

And then I ask my best friend, who understands my love for SMAC but never bothered going further than Talent, for opinion...

I pretty much playtest all my mods, but then they aren't as radical as some, being mainly clones or aquatic versions of existing factions.

Then I unleash them on an unsuspecting world as PBEMs that I CMN.

I also playtest scenario ideas quite extensively, as they have the ability toi severly unbalance a PBEM where I make the AI inadvertently too powerful

Oh great ! I had all but given up on this thread. thanks Googlie.

I find my own playtest value somewhat limited, due to my type of playing style.

Although I purposely try to play otherwise, I inadvertantly / subconsciously seem to revert back.
