Spanish language help plea Increase Your PM Length

What's "foil" (the dramatic term for a minor character that's a lot different from the main character who the author uses to emphasize the main character trains by throwing them into relief) in spanish? If no such word exists what's a phrase/sentence I can use to explain what I mean?

Also what exactly does "insensato" mean? I think its something along the lines of insensitive or insane but I'm not sure. Can it have multiple meanings?

Insensato means foolish. Senseless or stupid might be good translations as well.

About foil, I'm not sure but I think there's no such term in Spanish. However, contraste (contrast) would be a near meaning.

I don't think there is a term for foil characters. I'd say that they are contrasting in nature, "son contrastantes".
