Guess what? Another bug Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I was playing with 1.21, that I like much, and encountered an obvious bug. I am on a continent's northern part, and there's a chokepoint to the south (one tile) leading to the other part of the continent, with the Iroquois being close there. I kept the chokepoint fortified ever since I discovered it, and no Iroqouis unit ever, except the Scout early on, was north of the chokepoint.

In the Ancient Age, I had a small war with the Iroquois, but I took two cities. Both were south of the chokepoint. We signed peace, and, as time came, I colonized some of the land over the chokepoint, still keeping it fortified all the time, and now had a usual border with the Iroquois.

Now it's late Middle Ages. I got an army of Samurai and Longbowmen and decide I'd like to torture the Iroquois a bit. I declare war on them, and the next turn, several cities go into disorder. Here I understood why, I got cities captured from the Iroquois with their citizens. The cities still had some people with Iroquois nationality.

However, a city of Edo went into disorder, too! Aa you probably know, this is one of the first Japanese cities. Edo was some 5 tiles away from my capitol, and the Iroquois weren't anywhere near it. Still, I zoomed in, asked for the unhappiness report and saw that "Stop the aggression against our mother country!". Surprised, I took a look at citizens, and noticed some of them saying "Laborer (Iroquois)". Now it's very weird, for the city of Edo belonged to me ever since it was founded, and didn't go anywhere else for a turn!

Any explanation?

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

i had two cities that would rather starve themselves to death then "forget the cruel oppresion that i bore down on them"

i founded these cities well into the game, while i was in a democracy, to use 1 or 2 tiles that my developed cities weren't and to get some extra trade from the ocean tiles.

Best part is that since i wasn't getting any shields in those cities, i had to rush build everything. Unimaginable amounts of money down the drain as the last citizens perished.

Tired of ads?

Worker identity confusion:
Somehow I left 4 workers on a tile without escort and India captured them but didn't disband them. I captured them back and they're no longer mine, now they are Indian and work only half-fast. At least I no longer need to pay for them.

Captured workers are the only thing I can think of. If not, then I guess this is a bug.

Is it possible that the Iroquese used a spy for spreading propaganda?

Actually, I've proven that I was mistaken and I made some of the Workers I captured join the city. Stupid me, but I didn't use slaves to join cities before.

BTW, propaganda can't work like that... it takes the city, or does nothing.

That's right... assimilation.

However I've found that the other civs won't always pay too much for the workers, so unless I really want good relations with the Civ I captured the Workers from, I'll probably keep them in the field... they're free, though slow. Or just add em babies to cities.

hi ,

hey ; no one talked about selling , i found out that you have to use them like chips , when asking for a right of passage or some goods , and when someone is "demanding" stuff from ya , then they play out very well .

Re trading workers:
It has been said that they prefer their own nationality (e.g., give/trade American workers to America).

Panag,
When you said "wait long enough , they become part of your civ" you were referring to those that were part of your cities, right??? I haven't heard or experienced foreign workers being assimilated yet.

hi , when you have a foreign worker "join" your city you have to wait , and wait , and depending on how your city is and your civ , buildings , wonders , happy , size (thats important) and a bunch of other stuff, the "personicon" (the worker-citizen) changes , into a citezen of your civ !!!

have a nice day
