You mean what we've been playing up to 1.21 is not beta?
Well, plenty of poorly explained and thought out aspects of armies. Thanks Firaxis. Should have been a lock together army ability more similar to ctp, but didn't go that far. Still, armies can be quite potent despite flaws. I find them almost a must for civs w/ no early game UU's who find themselves in an early dogfight, especially the Germans. Later, if things are going swimmingly, I like to stick them in my capitol or forbidden city as ceremmonial guards. Or, if things start getting hairy before they are too terribly obsolete, just kamikaze them as last ditch assault or to soften up opposition. An army of samurai can take down more advanced units quite often, actually. I modded armies to all have blitz and zoc. Actually works too. Still I think the whole concept was poorly thought out and implemented. What the hell is it supposed to represent historically anyway?
