At this point, there have been 5 total voters, each of whom has voted for those civs. each voter can vote for as many (or as few) as he wants.

well i'm just concerned with spain and the incas. hopefully they'll make a native american culture group and put the US back with western europe. maybe they can make an eastern europe group too or something. 2 african civs wouldn't be a bad idea, just so they can make an african culture so the zulu aren't with the persians and babylonians, which is rediculous anyway. the arabs could go with that group, though.
i also voted for the turks and mongols, good additions i'd say. i'm not too concerned about carthage or the others though.

Thrawn05: replace Poland with the Vikings and you may have it right. After all, if Germany can be considered Eastern European then so can the Vikings. I can't see Poland being included. Not enough interest in them.

Hopefully, they will make a civ editor similar to the smax faction editor that will allow the stable creation of extra civs. They should also include the ability to create new cultural groups. That would make modding a whole lot easier, especially fantasy mods where 4 cultural groups aren't enough for the many races there may be.
Anyway, I voted Spaniards, Vikings, Celts, Carthaginians, Mongols, Incas, Arabs, Turks as my best 8 out of those options.

In case no-one knows, there is another poll on the civfanatics general discussions forum. There are 20 different options. The link is below:

It is interesting to note that the Spanish are the clear leaders.

Dom Pedro: Off-shoot of Rome? o_O I guess you could say that, if it wasn't for the fact they were a distinct culture and empire for 1000 years AFTER the Fall of the Roman empire. America was just an 'off-shoot' of English, take them out of the game, eh?
They were one of the richest and longest standing empires in the history of the Middle Ages. Aside from the fact that they were an intellectual and economic powerhouse until the twelfth century, they're also more or less responsible for the spread and developement of Christianity for 300 years after Rome fell.
Oh yes, and then there's a little thing called the Hagia Sophia, in that 'Constantinople' city....
If anything, chuck Rome, include Byzantium. (well...that's a bit extreme, but to include Poland, the Celts, or many of the suggested and included civs, over the Byzantines? I don't think so.)

They will probably develop several expansion packs, each with "x" number of civs; the max playable may still be 16 (or whatever).
If incorporated correctly, you could choose whichever civs you wanted in each game. Considering how many good possibilities, this could lead to a lot of expansion packs.
What would be even better is to have open slots, where some of the modders could insert their own into a game. I know this is now possible, in a sense, but it is not very easy or user friendly for those people that are tech challenged.
Same thing applies to adding units, improvements, etc.

Ethiopians might be replaced by Turks though, either of them would be cool

I myself would like to see the Spanish (UU-Concesadore or Spanish Galleon), Arabs (UU-A swordsman with a Scimitar), Ottoman/Turks (UU-Something to do with WW1), Norse/Viking (UU-Longship, can go on sea tiles without Astronomy), Mayans (UU-?), Mongols (UU-Mongul Riders), Inca (UU-Something like the Jaguar Warrior), & one you don't have on the list, Canada (UU-Hockey Player, now hear me out here. Each Hockey unit would count as a hockey team, & along with proving some defense, each unit would increase the happiness in whatever city they're fortified in, depending on it's level. This of course opens the door to my "Sports Team" unit, which would have the "no war" attack effect of priveteers, but I'll save that for later. Having Canada as a civ would also allow me to Nuke Canada ).
