	When We Learn "Democracy"... Increase Your PM Length

We are going to discover Democracy one of these days. When we do, should we become one, or do we want it only for SoL and Communism?

Monarchy is becoming awkward to handle (corruption, unhappiness). Republic is often not very much of a help. When we discover Democracy, should we change to it (in an Oedo year), or should we wait for the opportunity of Communism through SoL? As current President, I advise you that unhappiness problems are showing up again, but we also have too many military units for Democracy to work out well either.

That's a good thought. But Democracy offers some advantages. Production and research are astonishing, for example. But Communism is advantageous, too.

Perhaps the biggest question to ask is -- Are we planning a military victory, or are we shooting for the stars?

The following assumes a war footing...

If at all possible, we should spend a few turns (maybe 8) as a Democracy with heavy luxuries, create WLTKDs and grow our cities to size 8 or more. That will give us the production we need to feed the war machine. Granted, with all our troops, this will take some planning.

Then, switch to Commie or Fundie and Stomp The Competition!!

production???...when we go now to Democracy that's one of the things we won't have anymore(next to happy ppl)
-->go demo= get 200%(+50 trade from corruption +50trade from extra arrows) more income + need 150%(=half we have)of the income to keep ppl happy+we lose 80% of our production= 0 progress
(+ we can't wage a decent war)

--> go Commie= get 100% more income + no more happynessproblems + no productionloss= profit

Do we want profit and progress or lose and a nice path into oblivion???

I was mentioning Democracy in general terms. We have far too many military units to survive being a Democracy in this game with our current levels of production, and we wouldn't be able to fight a war, either.

Mainly, I wanted to make sure what people expected me to do with Democracy once we got it.

BTW, nice description of the calculations involved. I didn't know the exact factors.
