Wait until the king hires some of the local Gurkha mercenaries to fight.

Those guys don't take understand the concept of 'prisoners'.

It will get much, much worse before it gets better.

And of course it's all a plot by China to grab a nice little 'satellite'.

Anything for the 5-year plan I guess. Oh well, it's just another sacriface that has to be made. The people will understand when they are smart enough, but for now those in the rebel groups know best.

That you can´t make an omelet without cracking a few eggs. Sadly enough I might add.

People don´t rebel without a reason as some other posters have pointed out. There is no democray in Nepal even if the government tries to make it look like that.

Gotta back AS here... seems that Maoists are trying to overthrow a fairly non-despotic regime. Perhaps a bit autocratic constitutional monarchy, but with free-speech and press... with elections.

The full blame for the mess goes to the rebels. Hope they all suffer horribly .

The Khmer Rouge weren't Maoists and didn't get along with Mao. They based their ideas on the French Revolution and Robbespierre.

Nothing at all wrong with being proud of Lenin. He was a great thinker and leader. Any communist can only hope to be as great as Lenin.

Stalin was a criminal who derailed the revolution and set socialism back 100 years, maybe more.

KamratX:

As I said before, according to Amnesty International,

The political situation turned a corner in May when elections resulted in the establishment of a majority government.
Not to mention the other factors previously cited.
You claim that

Evidence please, or is this simply baseless assertion????

Are you describing the government's actions before or after the start of the Maoist insurgency?

The establishment of a majority government for the first time. Given that the war was almost six years old by that point, a little late to prove the anti-democraticness of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).

Well, lets throw in the rebels insistence on one-party government, as reported by the BBC. I fail to see how replacement of even a nascent multiparty system with one party government can be helpful, especially when the one party insists on supporting its position with grenade launchers.

Multiple parties doesn't guarantee democracy. We've got multiple parties and our system is farce. The litmus test as to whether a government is democratic or not is the amount of input it gets from the people and how much control over their government they have. Reports I have read indicate there is quite a lot of popular control in the liberated zones of Nepal.
