My choice would be England winning the World Cup 1966.

Ned, I don't think you would have seen much.

Actually the birth of Christ would have been good, or Sauls' conversion on to the road to Damascus.

It would have been interesting to see the first European to step foot on to America.

Ah, but the Immaculate Conception and the Assension are both critical to Faith, aren't they?

Unfortunately, I'm from Missouri.

The absolute last thing I wish to see is a battle or a war. The sight of thousands of soldiers killing each other is something to horrible to even comprehend.

The only thing in that ballpark that I would like to see is Napolean facing down the troops King Louis sent to kill or capture him after his escape from Elba. Quelle courage!

An interesting question for some of these is, how would you locate them? For instance, suppose you have a time viewer that lets you focus on any place you choose, at any time (previous to the present) you choose, but you have to specify how many years/days/hours in the past you want to look.

Now suppose you want to witness the birth of Christ. Exactly where do you look, and exactly how far into the past? Dec. 25 isn't known to be the actual birth date (and the calendar was different then anyway), and there must have been a lot of mangers in Bethlehem at that time. You guess a date, and pan the view around until you spot a pregnant woman--how do you know it's Mary? You think you'll recognize her face from the last Nativity scene you saw?

The whole concept of time travel is preposterous. I wish H.G. Wells never came up with it. It really ruined the Star Trek series because it turns the somewhat plausible (which was the original premise of Star Trek) into the absurd.
