there where a ww2 , German and Japan scen , and a Greek one , and some more , in total about 5 or 6 , .....

I think you are right, the original game probably did come with the WW2 and Alexander scenarios. Both CiC and FW expansion packs added more scenarios, but it was not until the FW expansion pack that a more complete editor was included. I believe the MGE expansion (that's three expansion packs, if you are counting at home - so why is PtW a surprise?), included the full editor that many have used to create superb scenarios...

While there were a few Microprose that were good (Verne, Independence, imo), it was not until works of the Civ2 HoF scenario designers that the true scenarios came to be.
