probably... but that won't happen in this place, at least not that easily... BTW, before you get a wrong idea, I'm not being elitist or anything... it just doesn't work out well with everyone

I know, and I know such people... but then they'r enot the kind to go out regularly either... besides, there's not a lot to do as in "going out and socialising", but pubbing or clubbing in the evenings... and that cost money

they realize I'm there, then look away. As in "go away, perv!". every single one.
Because you expect them to do so and you're probably wearing sneakers, jeans and a t-shirt and giving a general image of sexual insecurity. They're shallow as hell, so the real question is - why even bother approaching them - why is this reaction relevant? What do you want from them? It's the wrong enviroment for one-night-stands and they sure aren't competent to discuss Hesse either.
Join a party, a grassroot organization, get involved in some cause, use the Internet to seek out people in your local area. The trick is that you move around social circles of people with common interests so there's never any ackward silence.

Well I have started going out to clubs on my own, I find it can be quite helpful in certain situations where you feel more compelled to talk to other people rather than stick in your group.
All I can say is Andy is to relax, but often, none of the advice is any good when you don't know how to implement it or act upon it. It takes a lot of courage and determination, and I feel things are improving slowly, but no amount of people telling you what to do is going to help unless you can do things yourself. You need a change of scenery, like I need a change of scenery. But sometimes you doubt whether even this will help. So just keep going, there is nothing wrong with a pint now and again, damn I seem to drink enough lately.
So just hope for the best, you are only young yet, look at the mistakes and misjudgements I have made through my life and try and learn what has taken me almost a decade to figure out, and then I still have some way to go.

And that's the problem... I haven't been to a party yet that was only halfway fun like that.. parties in this area (or at least those of friends of mine) tend to be boring parties in small circles... and if there are several of those small circles, they stay separated... so by that, I'd need a big party of something very common... I just don't have any interests like that,

It's true I'm not doing a lot to change my situation. The first to guess the reason wins a prize. |
Aids, Herpes, mono, bad breath?
do I win the prize?

and yeah, 17 was cool... it was the best age ever... 18 has mroe rights but feels older and more responsible as well
