I don't like to look at porn myself, but I'm not dead-set against its existance either. My reasons for not indulging in it myself are my own, and have nothing to do with religion of any sort.
How can it be evil, as certain religious groups say? So long as the person posing gave the cameraman permission to photograph/film them, or they chose to work at their strip club, then nobody is being hurt by it.
Better that a guy masturbate while looking at porn than to be out in some dark alley waiting to 'pounce' on the first woman to pass by.

Its funny how you point out ultra-conservative Christianity, when in fact, it is not the only religion that condemns pornography.
Freudian slip? |
Let's also not forget that some of the most vocal critics of pornography are radical feminists who can hardly be considered ultra-conservative Christians.
Then there is Dr. Laura, who is definitely Jewish.
There are Muslim countries where distributing pornography is a capital crime.

Porn is considered bad because women are portrayed as sexual objects. They are dehumanised, lets put it that way. |
Right, yet this is "good for society"?

I'm sorry, but humans are intrinsically sexual beings. There's nothing unnatural about a naked women, or watching people have sex, providing that they've given their consent for those pictures, or video, or whatever, to be taken. No-one's being made an "object" of, no-one is being exploited, and if you're offended by it, then just don't ****ing read it!
