I'll take the hive and I vote for transcend level. Also, I know it's a tourney game, but if everyone agrees, could we have an extra colony pod and scout to start? It really speeds things up.

is it PBEM or are you playing in real time via a lan.
if it's in real time I'd like to try with the Prophets.
all the other rules seem cool to me
...that is if i'm allowed...I've never done a tournament ...
Later,
Antoine.

sorry.
quick questions: do you e-mail after each turn to each other?
how long does a game last?
just curious.

yes, we email our turns. it's takes a while, depending on who you're playing with.

so you DO play in real time then? just via e-mail. many e-mails over afew weeks?
if it's all in one day then what is the difference between PBEM and playing directly (apart from the obvious technical differences)?
later,
talent.

it's not real time. after u take ur turn, u zip and email the save file to someone else. they do the same. so the games take months to play.
this allows players to take their time for each move, and is more convenient for busy people.

thanks for the info.
I'd love to give it a try sometime (but not on a tournament obviously...I'm a little green)
if you have an openning at an other time on a regular game keep me in mind (i usually playLibrarian or Transcend too...depending on my mood)
thanks for replying.
(I'll leave you alone now)
have a great game!

Antoine

oh, will this game come with an ini file? i heard one could be made to prevent the faction colors and architecture from getting mixed up during the game.

Well, it can, sort of. I can send along my .ini file if you want, but I do not think it is a good solution. It would overwrite your current settings wrt rules, game settings, gamma correction etc., and you would need to copy it back every time before you play the turn.
Personally I think the whole thing is too much hassle, but if you want, it is probably easier to make a correct such file yourself. Just start a new game with the factions in the proper order (which I will provide); that creates the .ini file, which you can then copy and store (and copy back into the main directory before each turn, if you have started any new games in the meantime).

great, so everyone's in agreement to the extra cp and scout.
as for the ini file, i thought it was a one time thing. i guess i should ask darius about it, i think wrote somewhere that he had a way of doing it just once, for a game.
or maybe that was because it was just one game.

i'm pretty sure we've had 4 players for a while, we're just waiting for TC to make the game.
