In a tip of the cap to Locutus, here is the current status of the civs in the XP, and a study of the evidence suggesting their inclusion
Civs 100% confirmed to appear
1. Spain- The Works (UU, leaderhead, civ name in screenshot)
2. Mongols- The Works
3. Carthage- (MP setup, mention of Hannibal on Infogrames site).
4. Vikings- (Viking City names, UU)
Civs unconfirmed, but with considerable evidence
5. Koreans- 50% (UU image, but could be part of the Feudal japan unit-pack)
6. Celts- 80% (leader mentioned at infrogrames, only at 80% due to the off-chance Firaxis may somehow use Brannus as the name of the Viking leader or may inexplicably meld the vikings and celts into one civ)
Two slots remain, and there has yet to be an American or Middle-Eastern Civ, so it is safe to say that these cultural groups will each claim one of the last two spots. We are likely to be looking at
7. Inca/Sioux/Maya
8. Arabs/Turks/Isrealites/Mali/Ethiopia

Don't forget another factor that needs to be considered in these guessing games on the new Civs. The fact sheet strongly implies that the UUs for the eight new civs will be divided up such that there will be two new ones in each era.
At this point, the only UU I can see as being 100% peggable to a particular era is the Spainish one. That is definitely a Medieval UU. I wouldn't want to give 100% ratings to the era of either the Viking or Mongol UUs this point. I'm sure someone could make arguements either way on which should be ancient and which should be medieval. But they can't both be medieval, because of the Spainish UU, and I would strongly suspect that a Carthagian UU would be ancient, if Carthage is in. Which only leaves one spot open in each of those eras for the Vikings and Mongols, and they sure aren't industrial or modern units.
This also means that for the remaining civs, we should be seeing their UUs fitting in the industrial and modern eras. Factoring this in might change the numbers for slots 5-8 a bit.

Vikings! Yes!
And I like the Berserk UU (should be Berserker I think). Like some of you mentioned in a couple of threads I think the Berserker should have the ability to attack from sea. That would reflect history rather well. Of course gamebalance might be an isue here because no other civ gets that ability for many years.
I wonder/hope if one of the Viking special traits are Commercial. They were great traders. Trading as far away as present day Turkey.

Could it be that each civ gets 1 UU in each era?
Well perhaps its a bit optimistic, but it could balance the civs throughout the game and give place for more differences in strategy between the civs.
Of course, if the editor is done well I can allways add those UU's myself |
hi ,
well one could say ; the game is starting to grow , ........what Sid and Firaxis did, well , they cahnged the industry , and the way games are build and played , .........
there shall be more stuff , UU's , that shall be for sure , .....there shall be lots and lots more , ......
of course that is costing money and taking time , lots of time , not only on graphics , but on this , that , .....
and the possibility's , .......whoaaah , ....
a lot is to thank on Mike Breitkreutz , ......and the whole new team , ....also they learned , ........
have a nice day

This won't work since the UU is supposed to give a civ a unique temporary advantage during the game.(Just like in real life!) If there was UU for every age it would defeat the purpose of UU's.
