Apologies for the dumbass question...
My old computer crashed out so I've reinstalled Civ2MGE (UK) on a new machine. Just d/led the 1.3 patch (UK), but it insists it can't find the MPS directory. Out of ideas as to how to patch it. I haven't had a game in almost 2 years so I'm desperate here!

And also... a request for a game as soon as I've sort this patch **** out, anyone, any settings, any standard asap. Please.

are you sure you got the right patch?

my version of MGE (US) has "Microprose Software" as the directory, while civ2 (2.42) had an "MPS" directory.

ok my dir is MPS, so I reckon that is the big difference between US and UK versions...
I've d/led the US version which doesn't work, and the UK version at civfanatics is the same file as the US (doh).
So, I think all I need is the UK patch, assuming I don't have it already. Only problem is there's nowhere on the internet to get it, I've done a couple of searches and I'm now out of ideas.
It's almost like the universe is conspiring to stop me playing civ2MP... did I do something wrong?

yup, thats my best idea also... so if anyones got it please email me or post here, or icq me or whatever, just get me the damn patch!
First person to send me the patch gets a FREE game of civ2MP with me. If that's not encouragement enough I don't know what is.

Righty then...
My MGE is still not working but I've installed civ2 classic, updated it to 2.42 and used a very clever patch made by Cedric Greene to patch it to MGE 1.3.
I'd still like to properly patch MGE if anyone can help, but untill then Cedric Greene is my man of the hour. If anyone lives near him, buy him a pint from me.

I can report that Graag's patches work fine and he is a pleasure to play. I understand he even played Eyes so he must be good.

ROTFLMAO, yeah thanks for the game Hydey, brief as it was. Good game with Eyes too, though I got whupped, just don't mention politics
