The only flaw in Blair argument is that it is incomplete.

Of course we have all the interest in a cooperation between EU and US. However, the EU has its (citizen's) interests and the US as its (citizen's) interests. Only a strike of luck will make both interests allways non-conflicting. When they are conflicting, reason, and the notion the cooperation is the best way, should ease negotiation (but not capitulation of one part, be that US or EU).

And, if asked to choose between US and EU, I'm sure Blair will choose UK (ie, whatever serves him best).

Any doubts about that?
