I think thongs are OK on 10-year olds. If it's OK on 16 year olds, and on 24-year olds, why not on 10-year olds?

DanS is right. I remember the whole 'little girls should never wear bikinis' debate 30 - 35 years ago. The comments against it were almost exactly the same as the ones here against 'thongs'.

Being older than the average poster I remember when the word 'thongs' was used exclusively to discribe beach footware. I accidently used that term recently and a guy looked at me with a stunned expression. Then he brightened and said "Oh, you mean your flip-flops" looking at my feet. So maybe that is the new term.
