	Bugs, help me Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Bugs, I value your opinion more than any other on this site - for your honesty, straight forwardness and experience. I have just sent an e-mail to my best friend*, declaring my undieing love. What do I do now??? I do love her, but I never meant to let her know, for fear of ruining our friendship. If Crap, why do I drink, its bad for your senses, is alcohol! Am I releasing a secret desire, that I want her to know, or am I just pissed? Both maybe?

Opinions wanted on how to proceed.

Be honest with her - tell her how you feel - don't take anything back. Even if her answer is negative, you will have it out in the open and you will feel better about it. Make sure that you make it clear that you want her to stay your friend under any circumstances.

The fact that you blabbed while drunk is perfect cover - it doesn't make you sound too earnest. As long as you don't get too gushy you will be fine....

Stand by it. If you really do mean it, and you do feel that way then for christ's sake let her know. Things might get complicated, and there's no guarantee that she'll reciprocate, but if you don't stick with it then resign yourself to spend the rest of your life never knowing whether you're missing the best relationship of your life.

Don't laugh it off. The fact is that if she really is "just a friend", then she sees qualities in you that she likes, and there's every chance that these will survive a possible rejection by her. If she decides that she can't go on being your friend, then your friendship probably wasn't that strong.

I never bought into that "Friends shouldn't date" rubbish. If you're a good friend with someone, you've got 95% of the necessary relationship ingredients in place.

I neglected to mention, in my drunken stupor, that she is actually with someone. If it was straight-forward enough I would have been ok. Kind of an important detail that.

Actually reading the e-mail again, it wasn't as bad as thought. Its a single line sandwiched between a bit about her driving test and me apologising for bad spelling due to being drunk. The title of the mail was "drinking and Driving test".

My wife was engaged to someone else when we first met. That caused quite a bit of bad feeling, but it was worth it in the end....

From what I've seen friendship-relationships tend to go very wrong.

I currently have very strong feelings for my best friend, I'm just hoping I never say anything.

Good luck BC, but if you want my opinion, just say you were feeling lonely and felt like you needed more from her, but you're not in love with her - it was just a drunken feeling. Otherwise things could get very awkard.

My life is never dull. I've 'done stuff' with 4 of my closest friends, 3 of whom were straight, only one was when drunk (and that was the gay one!)

However sucky my life seems to get, at least I'm never bored. Suicide attempts, hard drugs use, pregnancies, marraiges, and all at the tender age of 17.

Jealous of my gay friend thought - shortly after breaking up with his boyfriend he's in bed with his boss - then two other guys afterwards (though not at the same time )

Exams coming up, aaaaah.
