The debate continues to rage regarding which and how many civs should be built into the game. My preference is for the following 32 civs:
Ancient:
1) Egyptian
2) Babylonian
3) Persian
4) Carthagenian
5) Roman
6) Aztec
7) Incan
Ancient/Medieval/Modern:
8) Israeli*
9) Greek*
10) Celt*
11) German*
12) Indian*
13) Chinese*
Medieval:
14) Mongol
15) Viking
Medieval/Modern:
16) Arab*
17) Turk
18) English*
19) Dutch
20) French*
21) Spanish*
22) Portuguese
23) Italian
24) Danish
25) Austro-Hungarian
26) Russian*
27) Zulu*
28) Japanese*
29) Polynesian
Modern:
30) Iroquois*
31) American (with a "just Yankee" option)*
32) Confederate*
* My personal TOP 16
BUT, undoubtedly, Firaxis will leave some very important civs not built into the game. So, my question is:
Will we be able to ADD fully functional CUSTOM civs to Civ III? Specifically, will CUSTOM civs be:
1) easily addable?
2) savable?
3) choosable, just as the built-in civs are?
4) and multi-playable?
Does anyone out the yet know the answers to these questions?

but you know whats probably gonna suck? even if you do get to create and save youre own civilization youll still end up with another civ just with a new name...

No, by "customizable", I mean more that just changing the names. In fact, these should be ADDABLE. You should not have to replace any already existing built in civ add to them. Also, besides city names and leader names, you should be able to set each custom civ's AI attributes and other features so that it performs with all the features and functionality of the built in civs.
In civ 2, because of its rigid structure, if you wanted to add a custom civ, you had to replace one of the built in 21. That's not what I'm talking about here. I want an open game architecture where you can easily customize and ADD TO, not replace, built in civs with fully functional custom civs! Whaddaya say, FIRAXIS?

While it MAY be difficult to add custimizable civs, I think we should have the chance to, at the very least, change the name of your civilization if you want to (similar to civ2)

If they are doing custom civs, it would seem that adding you own civs that you have customized would be make all mp games you play unbalanced and slanted to those using these custom civs. If there was a way to balance custom civs that are added, I would be all for it. But until then I would only be in favor of Firaxis endorsed civs.
