Do you guys want to lay off. OK. We all understand that a certain individual is on many ignore lists.

The question is, when do many of you grow up?

I've read through this entire thread and I must agree with those who say don't put anyone on ignore. I think it is a good thing to be exposed to everyone here. I'm learning a lot about people and find it very interesting.

As for panag, he's cool! Why does everyone pick on him? The comma thing doesn't really bother me. Think of the commas and periods as a slide. You just slide from word to word.

Now what really bothers the daylights out of me is 1337.
What a useless distortion of the English language by juevenile punkbass2000's. Say no to 1337. It burns out your eyes even if you can read it fluently.

hi ,

thank you , that is the meaning of the comma , ....and the little points behind it mean either , something to think about , open to a response or just a plain simple pause , ...

anyway , a nice day to all of you

Where's the censorship? It's the exercising of personal choice over what one reads, not an enforcement of the tastes of another.

I, just like everyone else, have that right to choose. Censorship doesn't enter into it at any point.

You don't know what you're reading until you've read it, you're censoring someone because you find them annoying.

While reasonable, it's not something I do.

Ash,

The distinction JR tries to point out is that censorship is a third party enforced action. Freewill to read or choose not to read is different.

How was that for psuedo spam?

Of course it's not third party enforced action, it's obviously first party but it's still censorship nonetheless.

If that is censorship, then choosing not to read a particular newspaper or book, or choosing not to watch a particular film, is censorship.

I see what you mean, but I don't think that censorship is the correct word to be using.

If that book is a central part of a dialog, and I refuse to read it by choice, it's clearly a form of self censorship.

Tired of ads?

Ultimately the choice is mine who I read and who I don't. It's freedom of choice- not censorship. It affects no-one but myself.

Plus- it stops me getting into fights.

Some of you are really weird. Always seeking censorship and violation of freedom of speech and the like every where.

Sometimes I get the feeling some Apolyton posters have too much time by their hands to think about just every nonsense for hours until reaching some abstruse conclusion.

Yes, Cali, but the fact remains that it's pretty stupid to use the ignore list feature.

I know they have every right to do it and how it's a personal preference, but I can still say it's pretty damn stupid.

You're setting up a strawman.

Skipping an entire thread is entirely different from preventing yourself from viewing a SINGLE PERSON's postings in a thread. It's even entirely different than skipping some posts because you don't have the time to read it all.

Censoring yourself from someone's comments in particular is fairly immature and tasteless, IMO. It just reminds me of those kids who always plugged their ears and shrieked "LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALLAA".

Not to mention a lot of people put others on their ignore list, then proceed to taunt that person in the thread (*cough*Andz*cough*)

It's a means of preventing RSI by making threads shorter and easier to scroll down.

Also, by my filtering out certain people it makes the viewing experience more pleasant for other users as they won't have to wade through a lengthy post by myself which questions the parentage, psychological state and sexual preferences of the person I would have otherwise merely ignored.

I don't censor you Laz, if you write those dopey giant posts, I just wait for everybody to comment on it to know what you said.

I find it interesting that Glonky is bugged that Andy ignores people.

hi ,

even some "governments" have "ignore" list's , no problem , but just imagine that a person on such a list ,
could be right for one time , ....or what he or she has to say , is like E=MC2 all over again , ......
many examples in real live , many on the net , some here , ...

have a nice day
