	HELP: Patch Problem Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

After many weeks with Civ3, I have come back to CTP2, but for some reason can't install the Official Patch.

I have re-installed it many times over and over but EVERY time i load the Patch, it cant verify the location of the CTP2 installation:

"Unable to verify the location of Call to Power 2 on your system. Click OK to exit the installer"

but i have just installed it, i have used the patch before, but whats going on now...Am i forgettin to do something?

And if i UNINSTALL the game, and run the patch (i was curious) it says that i allready have installed it !!!

Any one know whats going on?

Cant play CTP2 w/ no patch !

Did you install CTP2 in the default directory or did you specify a different directory? If it is not in the default directory I would suggest you uninstall the game and reinstall it in the default directory.

No you don't understand, i dont change anything like the path setting or whatever, i mean i have done this before, but never had this problem, i really am clueless, i have installed it fully, but the patch cannot find the CTP2 installation.

Is the patch running from the same directory as the CtP2.exe ?
I seem to remember I had this trouble too once. I think an uninstal, (rather than a delete , so that the registry resets) solved it. How bizarre

No, i have tried copying the Patch to the same place as the CTP2 .exe, but no it still has trouble.

I have done this before, and it worked, but i freshly downloaded the patch again today (proved pointless) to make sure there wer no errors. Dam thing, i cant CTP2 now...HOW BAD IS THAT...

Today i have Uninstalled the Game, Installed the game, r/started the System then run the patch, but still no.

I truly am Puzzled and gutted !

Ok just to clarify: IT NOW WORKS

How ?...well

From previous installes of the game, i had a backup copy of the folder 'Activision' in a another place, and after i draged the CTP2.exe into Patch.exe (or whatever) it said:

Cannot find the Anet.ini

So the only Anet.ini file i had was in the back up folder, so i deleated the whole back up copy of the 'Activision' and a Anet.ini was created (or was it there before ?)

Anyway i ran the patch, in the same folder, and it now worked.


EDIT: now for that Super Apolyton Pack
