The fact is that black people prefer to watch other black people on TV, and white people prefer to watch other white people. Most of the top shows among black audiences are shows featuring blacks, and vice versa for whites.
Theres nothing racist about a black entertainment channel IMO, they are just catering to a specific audience.

What makes you think that?! That is a very ignorant comment. Do you think when a black person and a person of another race mix that the offspring is black?! If all the races in the US mixed to a point where everyone was the same color, I can assure you they would not be black. More like a light brown.

UPN has a lot of "Black" shows, but it's not called a "Black Network". I like some of the programs they show. Why does BET have to call themselves that name? |
They are just appealing to a specific audience. I dont see anything wrong with it.
You are right about the double standard though. No channel would dare call themselves the "white entertainment channel", its just not PC. There are channels that intentionally appeal to white audiences, but they would never admit it so bluntly.

Wait, you mean it's not?
Does that mean I should be afraid of that chocolate panties recipe I got off of Spice?
