Okay, I may make some more polls out of this, but I need to make a regular thread discussion first.
First off, there were no canidates for Minister of Finances ( ) so I didn't bother to make a poll yet. I have a few options as far as that goes. If we have anyone who would like to be a canidate, say so here, then we can start another election up. If not, then we can either give the powers to others that already exist, or my idea that I came up with last night, to combine the Minister of Trade and the Minister of Fincances, into the "Minister of the Economy'. I was going to make a poll for this, but due to the fact that people have already voted to have a Minister of Finances, then if anyone steps up, we'll have to have an election because things have already been set up.
Another thing I'd like to address is the Reporter position I proposed. There was a very large number of people who wanted it, and I believe this warrants another election for that position. Anyone who cares to run for this position, reply to this thread as well. Keep in mind, this is a very important position, as it lays claim to the majority of relations between the administration and the regular public. This holds a lot of responsibility, but also a lot of prestige and importance. If no one wants to take this position, then it will be assumed by the Vice-President.
If people step up for these positions by 1700 GMT Saturday, then I'll make elections for them then. If not, then we'll use whichever one of my other proposals is most popular.

Yes, the ministers advice the president on how to spend the nations money and resources, but its up to the president to make the final call.
But a finance minister could be a good advisor to the president on money issues as different ministers will want to use the money on different goals.

Well, get him in here quick. I'd like to talk with him first. The Reporter position is probably more important than any of the others, and I want to make sure the canidates are qualified for it.
Also, if you talk to him (or anyone else), remind him that it takes a lot of dedication as well. Every time a turn is conducted, he'll have to give a fairly detailed report of what occurred, screenshots, etc. While playing the game, I'll provide screenshots of the action that can't be obtained without actually having played it though.
And thanks to the entire community here! I'm glad we're getting things rolling so nicely fairly quickly. In many cases, projects like this get bogged down in the first week with so much stuff, but so far we've been able to handle all of it and organize it, so things are running smoothly.

Could be important.

Mmmmkay.

If it's every day, then I can't be a reporter. At least not the sole one. |
Could be. But remember, for the first month, there won't really be much to report. "As our great leader moved 2 workers in position this year... adjusted the budget, and built a new Warrior..." and that's it. I fear for the Reporter later on, but I suppose things will slow down for the entire game, so it will be alright.

Sure, just make sure you present all of the info accurately (for example, don't say "Our country took a huge cut in taxes", when it was only lowered by 10%). Other than being accurate and complete, you can do what you like.

Ahhh, good. Many people are going for elections this time. Excellent. Now, as a quick tip for all those who plan on running... be a visible presence! The more you get out, get to know people, and make your views known, the better chance you have of being elected! Prove to the public why you're best for the spot! Individualize yourself! If you have the same platform as another canidate, and sit around picking your nose, then why should anyone vote for you? In other words, be a man of the people, get heard, mingle, whatever. Do what it takes for people to talk about your name, so that when they see you on the ballot, they say "Hey, I know this guy!".
Again, a quick reminder, the spots for the new positions close on Saturday, so if anyone else plans on running, make sure to sign up here by then, so that I'll know to include your name in the election! I don't think Ming is fond of me 'topping' and fixing threads right now.
Okay, enough rambling for now. As always, have fun everyone.
