is there any way to play a different civ than the one we was playing at a saved game? I'm really bored because the civ I was playing has become such a powerful empire, very little job is left to do .

Actually, it is possible if you saved the game as a scenario and set/reset a few parameters. The game would start right where you are now and you could pick which Civ you want to be. I doubt that it would be worth the trouble though, if you don't know anything about scenario creation.

Good idea Tom but no go. These settings apparently only set the default options for when you first start a game. They don't have any affect on saved games.
