I have decided not to run for elective office in July. I am *that* confident that there are more months to go in this game, and I want to be in on it at the end.

Question, though... Does Historian count? I could catch us up on the history of our Grand Efforts if that didn't prevent me from seeking other offices in August and beyond. Someone needs to do it. I'll be the Historian if it doesn't count for sequential office months.

Cavebear - I think you would certainly make a good choice for Historian this time around, and that ALL presidents should consider it after their term, since they know (or SHOULD know) exactly what happened better than anyone else during their term in office.

The Prez posts those oh-so-wonderful turn by turn accounts, and thus have already done half of the job - they just need a little embellishment and "behind-the-scenes" sort of info to cap it all off.

Great to see so many contested (and not just by two) positions here. And if you're not in, just throw your name out. You may not get in first time around (especially seeing some of the names listed as candidates), but it gives you a buzz every time you see a vote for you and you can be the outspoken dissident throughout your successful opponent's career.

MWIA - The nominations end on the 27th, I think. But don't leave things up in the air for too long. The definition of "the 27th" is quite broad (depending on where you are). Plus, It would be awkward if you left things to the last minute. Many people are expecting you to run for President. If you are not, you should say so soon.

As far as not knowing how to post screenshots, I did not know how when I ran for President, either. I learned.

Hit the "PrintScreen" button, then hit "Control" and "C" (simultaneously) or the menu "copy" command. Then go to Paint (or any other graphics program), open a new document, and hit "Control" and "V" (simultaneously) or menu "paste" command.

It's not really that hard. Necessity is a great teacher!

I recall some discussion a couple of months ago about whether "Historian" counted as a Cabinet post for the purposes of counting terms of holding office. I can't find it now, but my recollection is that the post of Historian does not count toward sequential terms.

I would like to take a break from Cabinet positions for a month and catch us up on the history of our game at the same time (believe me, it will seem like a complete vacation by comparison). -Jrabbit has done a good job, but he is ready to put away his quill pens and nibs and cap his inkwell.

I am prepared to pick up wherever he leaves off at the end of June.

With the previous general agreement that Historian is not part of the election cycle and that I may seek some other office in August, I hereby throw my ink-stained cap into the ring.

You may rest assured that, as Historian, I will both use my intimate knowledge of the years of my Presidency *and* I will be utterly objective in evaluating my own previous actions. Who knows better where the skeletons are hidden than I?
