This is a zipfile containing a file for use in DOS called gifcvt32.exe.

You need to put it into a directory along with any .bmp files you want to change into .gif.

Then you type (in DOS)

gifcvt32 *.bmp

and it turns all files that are .bmp into .gif.

Then you can post them! Please try this - don't give upo yet!

123john321 - Just save the Paint file as a .jpg format! You seem to be doing everything else correctly. At the bottom of the "save as" screen is a box that says "save as type". At the right of that box is a scroll arrow. When you click on it, it will offer several file formats. Choose "JPEG File Interchange Format [*.jpg, *.jpeg]". Your file will then be saved in jpg format and you can post the image.

Paint and "Print Artist" (they both came with the comptuer, its a Used windows 95 Packard Bell)

about the image problem
* try MSpaint--> SAve as--> *.gif or *.jpeg
* try Microsoft Photo editor(if the image is saved as bmp, rightclick when holding down the shift key --> choose the option "open with"(don't know what the english version says)--> chose "PHOTOED" and then you can save the image as gif/jpeg.
* ...If I can think of more progs they automaticaly dump in a windows-version...I'll let you know...

Due to uncertainties concerning the election cycle involvement of Historian, I remove myself from consideration for that position at this time.

While I think I could have performed this function very well, there are legitimate concerns that this might merely be an exploitation of loopholes in the rules of governance. I will not even seem to exploit such loopholes...

Therefore, I will spend the next term wandering among the Citizens, learning of their daily problems, and participating as a proper Citizen should for the greater benefit of our Glorious Worker's Paradise.

I am too old to carry arms to any value, but I think I can attach myself to one of the Engineering teams around Apolyton to their advantage. Cleopatra has agreed to follow me anywhere I choose to go (love ya babe).

A month as City-Planner and 60 days as President has taken its toll on me. I will live the next month free of the responsibilities, and enjoy the simpler pleasures of life in our Communist homeland. In August, I will be tanned, rested, and ready to assume new duties wherever my talents are most needed!

ok, this is getting harder and harder...
The only other thing I can suggest is trying to find out what image/drawing programs there are and then see wich one can save as Gif/Jpeg...

(maybe take a look on the internet for a free drawing prog to download,or a trial version

And perhaps I have a solution... Do you perhaps have a friend you can send the gif or bmp files to? It's not any work at all to just open your file, save it back in jpg format and return it to you.

Would that work for you?

i meant to find something for you earlier john, but better late than never. there's a basic, but free converter program you can get from tucows.com its called AhaView. it's not flashy, its not a photo editor, but you can change bmp to jpgs with it. go to: http://www.tucows.com/mmedia/preview/212647.html if you don't like AhaView, try looking for a different one. attached is a bmp file i converted

Cavebear i thought i read in a recent post that you HAD been accepted as the Historian? I didnt look to hard at the dates so it may have been an old post but it did show MWIA as Pres. (It's been a long weekend so please excuse me if I seem a little confused.............I am.)
