	Distribution and Obtaining Money Get a bigger avatar today!

I have a few questions, but they are all that relevant right now. However, in the future they will become very relevant.

First off: How are you planning to distribute your game? If distribtuing through downloads only, then that is going to leave a lot of people out of luck. Are you going to offer it for download and for the people who are less fortunate (i.e. have a 56k) send them a copy of the game? Do you plan on doing that for all versions of the game, including the demo versions, free versions, and paid versions? Which leads me into my next question: How are you going to get the money?

To me it seems like a rather difficult task getting money from somebody through the interent. I guess there always is pay pal or something like that. But is something like that efficient enough? I'm just curious what your planes are for selling your game, or have you not given much thought to this yet?

The game'll be available both ways...via download someplace and we'll ship it out on a CD for those who want it that way (the game itself still free, and whatever the usual charge is for shipping and handling).

That plan should serve us pretty well for all the free release versions of the game anyway....

As to getting the money....don't know just yet. There is currently no defacto internet standard of payment, though paypal is the current leader in that regard. Still, there are no less than half a dozen paypal clones out there, and a variety of other options to boot.

My current favorite is Paypal, simply because it's the largest and IMO, most established, but....if the situation changes between now and then, we'll roll with it.

PayPal has been experiencing a lot of problems... many people say they have never been paid and have had to take PayPal to court to get their money. Many online sites refuse to accept PayPal now due to these irregularities.

I just hope you allow money orders, etc, too. That old fashioned kind of payment is still in use in certain dark forgotten (non-US ) corners of the world.

No worries bud! I'm quite fond of those "old style" payment methods....'round here, I think I'm the only guy who still actually buys lunch with real MONEY. Our department went out to lunch together last week, and paying for it in turn, we all lined up at the register....I saw Visa Gold, MC Platnum, American Express, Discover, Debit, Credit, you name it....a dizzying array of cards.

When it finally got to be "my turn," I looked at the lady running the register and said somewhat sheepishly, "I assume you still accept cash?"

Would this be from the student body in general or is this practice restricted to one Skanky Burns in particular?
