If the tech whoring plan is accepted, would you start the turnchat 20 minutes sooner, only to take care of this before the actual turnchat starts ?
Haggling prices takes time, and I don't want to make people wait 20 minutes so that we spare 30 gold or so.

If it jeopardizes the whole plan, then I think we can wait a bit. However, if it's just a few gold, then it's the job of people to determine these things beforehand, and we shouldn't have to wait for them.

the calculations should be done on a tabsheet or so , so that we all can compare , and posted with poll's , ...

this way we get a fast overview of what all the options are , ....

its more clear , and faster then a thousand words .

It would be nice if we could do the calculations beforehand, but since we'll be trading away techs we won't possess until all this tech whoring starts, how can we predict what, say, Mysticism would be worth for the Iroquis, since we can't propose that trade before we in turn buy it from the Greeks? (Who, IIRC, will be given Iron Working - another tech whose value to the Greeks in particular we don't know.

, actually what is needed is an office that keeps it self working on information , they could do this , amongs many other things .

, that office could also keep a chat log , and give it out to people who can use it , ...

I can't do calcualtions beforehand, because I have no idea of the exact tech devaluation formula.
When I say "let's start this chat 20 minutes sooner", here's how I'd see it :

"Spiffor enters the room
Spiffor> Hi Trip
Trip> Hi Spiffey
Spiffor> Buy Iron working from the French for 3 gpt and 58 gold
Trip> Done
Spiffor> Ok, I've done it too. Now, let me check how much the Greeks will give for Iron Working
(2 minutes pass)
Spiffor> sell the Greeks Iron working for Mysticism and 15 gold.
Trip> Done
Spiffor> Done in my game too. Give me some time to negociate with the Iroquois now."

etc, etc.
This is pretty boring, and I don't want to waste citizens' time with this bore. That's why I suggested we started 20 minutes sooner. We can also do this through the forum, if Trip wants.
I can't do this alone, because I need the Prez or VP to follow my orders before I actually do them within my game. For example, if I trade Iron Working at home, I'll immediately know beforehand where Iron is located. That would be plaing ahead.

(No, I did not play ahead, I was just negociating trades to know what would be the minimal price we had to pay. Once I found this, I did not accept the deal.

Trade deals, adjustments of city production, moving sliders, etc. can be done outside the turnchat just as well as they can be done within one. That kind of thing is fine with me.

You don't end a turn

You don't trade maps

You don't resign

I think it is OK in this case to go ahead and do the trades at home before the next chat. Then tell Trip the sequence and specifics. He will then do them, and they will be done.

Of course, if you want the participation of another person, you could always grab Trip, head into the Poly chat room and do it together right now.

This all assumes that you have decided that this is what you want to do. Your idea certainly seems to have the support of most people.

Oh wait... isn't Ninot a part of this? Grab him too.

Due to RL, I could be late for the next turnchat, so I did calcualtions now :
- buy Iron Working from the French for 3 gpt and 58 gold

- sell Iron Working to the Greeks for Mysticism and 17 gold

- With the Iroquois, you can buy : the Wheel for Mysticism and 12 gold
the Wheel + 12 gold for Iron working
the wheel + alphabet + 11 gold for Iron Working + mysticism

- you can buy Alphabet from the English for Mysticism + 10 gold

All in all, the plan will cost 3 gpt and 39 gold if we sell Iron Working to the Iroqs, or it will cost 3 gpt and 63 gold if we sell mysticism.
I don't know if we should whore IW or not, as I can't predict the AI behaviour on this.
