Hi there,
I'm just a stupid irix user and would like to enjoy freeciv as well. Unfortunately, after having downloaded the compiled version for Irix 6.4 (i have no clue about compiling things) unpacked it, and started it, i got the following msg>
1493:civserver: rld: Fatal Error: Cannot Successfully map soname 'libz.so.1.1.3' under any of the filenames /usr/lib32/libz.so.1.1.3:/usr/lib32/internal/libz.so.1.1.3:/lib32/libz.so.1.1.3:/opt/lib32/libz.so.1.1.3:
anyone that can help me?

I'm not an expert with Irex, but I can hazard a guess. The problem appears to be that the binary was linked against a version of the zlib that isn't installed on your system, or that can't be found. Try downloading the source (either 1.12.0 or 1.12.4, I'd suggest 1.12.4 since it has more features. Be advised that it is a beta version though.) and compiling from scratch.
