HELL NO
Drug dealing is an economic crime; the people who sell drugs themselves are oftentimes intelligent but poor and see no oppurtunities for them. I SAY FREE THE DRUG DEALERS after they recieve job training and a preliminary business training for the future.

So you want the convicts to be freed after the end of their sentence then have no jobs and be criminals again and again?! What the hell? We must encourage businesses to hire convicts.
And gangs I guess... but gangs that give community to those most likely to fail and teach them morals and citizenship. The most likely to fail will stand as the epitome of the American way of life.
thanks

The Moderate Libertarian Party .
Taxes/Economy
-Eliminate the income tax for the lowest 20% of wage earners (while keeping the Bush tax plan).
-Eliminate the Estate Tax.
-Eliminate the Marriage Tax.
-Promote Free Trade and drop our trade barriers.
Government
-Cut the bureaucracy by slashing total government jobs by 10%
-Slash unneccessary regulations, while strengthening regulations on accounting of profits by corporations.
-Eliminate the Office of Homeland Security and put the NSC above the FBI and CIA.
-Lower Presidential Power in favor of Congressional Power.
-Repeal the Amendment that allows for Direct Election of Senators (Go back to electing them from the State Senates).
Social Policy/Programs
-Legalize ALL illegal drugs (with FDA warnings on them).
-Increase immigration quotas significantly.
-Reform welfare whereby work training would play a significant role.
-Pass the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) guarenteeing equal rights for women.
-Reform Affirmative Action, where it applies to those below the poverty line and not just of some races or ethnicities.
Education
-Increase funding for education, especially higher education, so more can go to and afford college educations.
-Destroy the administration bureaucracy in education. Allow schools to do what they wish to educate.
-Promote charter schools and vouchers (with the caveat that all schools that accept vouchers cannot charge more than them).
-Destroy the power that the Teachers' Union have over enacting any reform in education.
States Rights
-Allow the states to decide on legal drinking ages.
-Allow the states to decide on prostitution laws.
Environment
-Come up with a timetable for a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
-Strengthen CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency) standards on our automobile fleet.
-Stress becoming more efficient and less dependant on oil.
-Pump money into alternate fuel research (especially fuel cells).
-Sign (but don't ratify) Kyoto and work from within to change it to include industrializing countries.
Military
-Reduce military budget by 15%. Stress a lighter, smaller groups military.
-Go for quality rather than quantity (stress technology as we are now).
-Close down all unnecessary military bases that Congressmen are blocking closure (that would make a good part of the 15% budget reduction).
-Stress naval and air superiority.
Foriegn Affairs
-Increase funding for foriegn aid, and send it directly to the source.
-Join the International Criminal Court (ICC).
-Pay our dues to the UN in a timely and consistant manner.
-Make the IMF, WTO, and World Bank more open institutions.
-Stop supporting (rhetorically and financially) Israel, until they accept a Palestinian state and leave the West Bank.
-Recognize a Palestinian State with the borders being the West Bank and Gaza, and defend them against unfair Israeli incursions, while at the same time demanding free and fair democratic elections.
-Become more active in Peacekeeping roles where there isn't a direct US interest (ie, East Timor).
-End the embargo on Cuba.
-Support fledgling democracies in Developing States.
-One time elimination of the debt of third world states.
-Expand NATO's Mandate to become a global peacekeeping organization. Invite Russia to join.
-Expand NAFTA to include more Central American and South American states.
Is that good enough . If I come up with more I'll post them

So a reduced military (without ground emphasis) will be more involved in peace-keeping... We had total air and naval superiority in Vietnam you know...

Not sure how I'd classify myself.
- Reduction of bureaucracy in government.
- Reform of the justice system, make it harder for rich people to get away with crimes.
- Three strike rule for most crimes.
- Welfare reform, make it harder for people to get money.
- Increase federal government's power to deal with Unions.
- Education reform, similar to the French system.
- Graduated income taxes, eliminate taxes completely for lower income families.
- Increase spending on border patrols along Mexican border.
- Deny long term medical care, schooling etc for ALL illegal immigrants.
- Expansion of UN powers to include military force.
- Lower tarriffs to promote international trade.
- Legalization of marijuana and other "soft" drugs, lower drinking age to 21.
- Strongly limit 2nd amendment rights, for example you can only own a firearm if you are a Police Officer, soldier or a part of a state sponsored militia.
- Stricter environmental controls, especially on cars (SUVs).
- Decrease military spending, increase intelligence spending, as well as reorganization of INS, FBI, CIA etc.
- Moderate support of Israel, promote creation of Palestinian state.
thats all i can think of now...

And tack on just about everything from Imran's list onto my list, (except the bits about the senate and teacher unions) this is getting scary
Oh and get rid of the death penalty while we're at it and reform the judicial system to give Public Defenders at least something vaguely resembling the resources of DAs and make prisons maybe actually have the people that come out of them just maybe less ****ed-up then when they went in (should be possible with drug legalization eliminating over-crowding).
quote: American Nationalist Fascist Workers Party...What you think? |
Aaaah, the urban strategy, which was the Nazi party's biggest propaganda failure, you'd do better targetting school teachers, other assorted whiny lower-middle class, and red necks like the Nazis did
quote: National Guard should get strengthened |
Yes, the danger of the US being invaded makes this indispensible!
quote: Not, "well now that you are in prison, we are going to teach you a skill." |
Better than any alternative thing to do with them in prison.
quote: And you have an experienced politician that has toiled in the state legislature becoming Senator, rather than a Corzine who has $30 million to spend on the general election. |
This didn't really happen when the legislatures elected senators either, you got so many millionaries getting elected to the senate it got called the "millionarie's club" IIRC.
quote: Not sure how I'd classify myself. |
Sort of like a European Liberal...

1. Eliminate all trade barriers.
2. Legalize all drugs (barring drugs that guarantee the harm of others, such as PCP, as well some regulation to deal with antibiotics); the FDA becomes an advisory agency.
3. Dismantle all immigration barriers.
4. Eliminate all regressive taxes. Hell, end all taxes excluding the income tax.
5. Completely overhaul the income tax to eliminate all the loopholes for rich folk, and drastically cut taxes across the board, with the most of cuts targetted towards the lower and middle classes.
6. Expand the earned income tax credit.
7. Take down just about every welfare program.
8. Dismantle much of our military, including significnat parts of our intelligence agencies (covert ops and whatnot).
9. Eliminate government "mediation" in labor disputes.
10. End the Puritanical-type laws - anti-prostitution, anti-sodomy, anti-gay marriage and so forth.
11. Overhaul foreign 'aid.' Stop funding the military of states such as Colombia, Turkey, and Israel, for instance.
12. Stop government spying on citizens. Start enforcing the 4th Amendement.
13. Reform the criminal justice system. Take down any sort of mandatory minimum sentencing, stop violence in prison, and end the death penalty.
14. Give everyone due process; eliminate 'secret evidence' and indefinite detentions.
15. Substancially increase funding of our education system. Raise our education standards, particularly on the standradized tests.
16. Support a pollution credit system.

This is getting a little long... I'll stop here...
