Bumping this because the matches will be played next week and I would normally have posted the thread around this time.

I also did some more research into the 1-0 tactic and last season it would have been most effective if it had been used starting with the group matches. In the qualifying rounds my own predictions far outperformed the 1-0 tactic.

I tried a few things with last season's results and predicting 1-0 for all matches gave the best results, followed by 2-1 and 2-0. I didn't try other home win scores, but I did try 0-0 and 1-1 but they gave far worse results.
