	The United Front Coalition Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Let me start with an introduction. This is a party alliance between the Hawk/Nationalist Party, and the Imperialists. The Coalition was formed due to the splintering of our cause into multiple parties, which thereby weakened us all.

The Coalition supports an early war against America as soon as our situation allows it. We feel that a strong military is the only way to ensure our security and dig ourselves out of the horrible starting position we were graced with. America will become our victims, then we shall take all the land to the north of us at our liberty.

The Coalition's total membership includes 26 members:

The plan has changed, Togas my friend. We're going for Warrior Code and Archers first, because of more flexibility (i.e. not having to build a road, finding a source of horses, etc.).

i believe most have us have decided that we are going for warrior code first, as the public works minister and many others oppose the jungle cutting / roading plan at this time.

we shall fight with archers and spearmen until we are out of the jungle.

I think that in the upcoming elections the Popular Front, and the Popular Front alone, should put forward candidates.

In other words, no Hawk candidates, no Nationalist candidates, no Imperialist candidates: only PF candidates. That is how they should be listed on the ballot, that is how they should campaign, and that is how the PF membership should vote. The more offices the Front can win, the better we are.

I also suggest that we prepare some kind of party platform: two or three principles that our party stands for. My preliminary suggestions:
1) Ratification of the constitution
2) The building of a military road system
3) War with France as soon as possible (ie as soon as we are prepared)

Finally, I'd like to propose that we select a PF Secretary, someone who can organize our party. For example, they would maintain a party email list and when a crucial vote came up (an election for instance) they would email the faithful and get them to turn out. The Secretary might also act as our official spokesman and "leader," arbitrating disputes between our member factions and ensuring that the PF runs smoothly.

It's pretty organized right now, I think. Someone to PM people about new polls might be useful, but it could always be posted.

If the UFC is to work well together, they have to act together. This isn't the UN ya know. We don't have our little groups that confide in each other, and send out a little Coalition team every so often. The UFC is just that: The United Front Coalition. Let us act united.

If no one wants to run the basic UFC duties, then I'll do it. Keep in mind you'll have to stay on top of a lot of things and make sure you're caught up on everything in order to take this position.

We don't seem very organized to me. We are discussing party business in a number of threads (instead of in just one), and we don't have any official party nominees for the upcoming elections. We're on the right track, but we could do better.

I don't see why not. That's the whole point of the PF: pool our collective strength to make sure our policies are implemented.

And this would be part of the job of the proposed PF Secretary: let the members know who our candidates are and be sure that they vote for them.

So if this is to be the offical unoffical coalition thread then I would like to put in my preferance of having the coalition's name be the Popular Front rather than the United Front. I just think it sounds cooler. And we also need a coalition flag or something.

i have a question. i am sort of confused about this coalition. let me get this straight: although the hawk party has joined a coalition, it still remains its own independent party. we have also -merged- with the nationalist party. is that right?

as far as I know, or, as i understand it, the UFC, UPC, whatever, is the temporary merging of the Imperialists the Hawks, and the Nationalists.

I'm not sure about it, but i believe the nationalists merged with the hawks, or at least they were talking about it,

The parties within the Coalition still exist, they are just united and will hopefully pool their votes. Parties can join and leave but for the promotion of those values the parties have in common they have joined together.

That's the point, isn't it? Apparently so, says others. At least, I know I'm voting for sky and vlad, the two UCF/PCF candidates.
