This is a serious thread okay, I'm not making a joke.
I found out one of my former friends is basically a hate monger. He hates gay people and said he wouldn't cry one bit if they all died. I tried to convince him that he was wrong, but I couldn't compete with 22 years of hate festering thought. Here are some points I'd like to make.
1) Everyone should be treated with an equal deal of respect regardless of color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, income level, IQ, and what sports team they root for (yes, even White Sox fans).
2) Why are homophobes scared of getting hit on by a gay guy? I mean, I'd take it as a compliment. In my experience, gay guys usually have higher standards when it comes to appearance. If some guy offers to buy you a drink or something, you know you are doing something right.
3) I'd say the majority of homosexuals have more respect for people's feelings in general. They know what its like to be made fun of and stuff, so they are more respectful and sensitive about stuff.
4) Being gay is not immoral, evil, or against the bible as many Christians like to twist the teachings of Christianity to justify their hatred and bigotry. About 20 percent of animals in the wild are gay (i.e. will try to mate with members of the same sex rather than an opposite one, animals, other than dolphins and humans, don't have sex for pleasure), so homosexuality isn't against nature.
Feel free to add any more points.

3) Religious point of view (jew, christian, muslim) Sodomy is forbidden. Man loving another guy, is not forbidden if there is no sex (I've seen no texts condemning the feeling of love between two men). Whatever Sex out of sacred union is forbidden and two men cannot marry.
4) Animals have incestuous sex too ... Males could fight to death for femals (not many races do it to death through).

I would say that most of the men who fear homosexuals have never really got to know any. When they do they find out they are just humans like the rest of us, not sex-crazed perverts.

I think that some floats in gay parades do give gays a bad image because the participants are intentionally trying to offend. I agree with my gay friends when they say "theres no need to act like perverts".

The same things could be said for any group of people, Sava.
As to the why's; it usually occurs when a group sets themselves apart from the rest of mankind, be they Gay, Black Panther, KKK, or whatever. Fringe groups.
If all remember they belong to the Human Race first, no problems.

I am a religious Jew, and have NOTHING against homosexuals, no prejidust at all, but according to Judaism, and Christianity homosexuality is a sin. There is a part of the Torah where it lists all the forbidden sexual relations, and a line translated into english reads "And man shall not lie down with man, it is abomination"- so according to your religion it is wrong, though I dont personally have any problems with homosexuals.

it is forbidden to sleep with women other than your wife too, I don't see such predjudice against single men as vs homosexuals.
It is all twisted.

*I* have no problem at all with homosexuals, one of my friends since childhood is gay, I would just never do anything like that but I am not going to look down on those who do(its not by choice, its genetic- any who say otherwise are fundamentalist christian science yokels).
Edit: Judaism is much less up tight about sex in general compared to Christianity......pre-maritial sex between teenagers is unoficcialy encouraged, and sex outside of marriage is only forbidden IF YOUR MARRIED- sex outside of religion is considered distastfull by some Jews due to cultural diffusion from Christianity but it says nothing about it in the Torah(at least not that I can think of, and I've read it countless times).
